Oxford Racers

The Oxford Racers sit right at the intersection between Lars Beller Fjetlands’s passion for classic cars and exquisite handmade leather goods. In partnership with Italian wood craft specialists Bottega Ghianda, Beller Fjetland brings these closely related universes together for a small collection of sculptural cars in wood and leather.

The skillful hands of the craftsmen and women at the Ghianda workshop painstakingly assemble these delicate objects in a process that bares resemblance to traditional shoe making, giving the collection its Oxford name. The hand finished car shaped last is covered with exquisite Italian veg-tan leather, before being paired with a set of matching wooden wheels. Every step performed with an uncompromising level of masterly craftsmanship.

Young or old, this collection will spark joy in anyone with a love and interest for classic cars and bespoke boot making.
Both car enthusiast, Lars Beller and Romeo Sozzi decided that the debut collection should focus on celebrating both past and future.

About manufacturer

Bottega Ghianda

“For two centuries Bottega Ghianda has been a true benchmark for artisanal manual skill. Here we patiently work a variety of different species of precious wood. We devise the joints and solutions needed to bring to life pieces of furniture, works of art and perfectly executed small objects abounding with charm. We know how to impart a special softness to wood, giving its surface unique tactile features.

Over time we have perfected the very vocation that sets us apart today: thanks to the manual expertise of our ebanistas, great names from the fields of architecture, design and art entrust their projects to us in the knowledge that the wood will acquire the exact form they imagined.”
